Can Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc. recommend where to purchase a lab puppy?

We are not in the puppy referral business; however we hate to see well meaning people purchase their Lab puppy from a pet store, want-ad, newspaper ad or in this day and age the Internet.  It will take time, effort and research to locate a good lab breeder.  A good lab breeder does not have to advertise and usually has repeat customers or referrals.  If one of your friends has a nice Lab they purchased as a puppy ask where they purchased it from or ask for a recommendation from a local well respected veterinarian, or dog obedience training center.
